Revenue Scotland has today launched its first public consultation in respect of Scottish Landfill Tax. The consultation seeks views on two options for improving our SLfT guidance on determining the correct rate of tax chargeable on contaminated soils. This public consultation follows feedback received on our guidance and informal consultation with a group of industry stakeholders and seeks the views of wider stakeholders including landfill site operators, their agents, local authorities, the wider waste management industry and waste producers, planners, developers and the construction industry, all of whom are likely to be impacted by the proposals.

The consultation paper and response form are both available to download. Responses may be submitted by email or by post and the deadline for responding is 15 July 2015.
