The Staffing and Equalities Committee (SEC) advises the Board and assists the Chief Executive on matters of staff structure, performance management and other systems and processes relating to staff management and welfare, attraction, retention and development, contributing to the Board’s corporate role and responsibilities.

The Committee comprises of:
- Jean Lindsay (SEC Chair)
- Idong Usoro (SEC Deputy Chair)
- Rt Hon Ken Macintosh (Member)
- Gillian Wheeler (Member)
- Elizabeth Barnes (Co-Opted Member)
The SEC meets three times a year.
The Committee fulfils its role through:
- scrutiny of workforce planning, recruitment and succession‑planning activity
- oversight of equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives and monitoring of statutory reporting requirements
- consideration of regular reports covering staff wellbeing, organisational culture, health and safety, learning and development, and workforce metrics
- monitoring management responses to findings arising from internal reviews, staff surveys or external scrutiny relating to people and equalities matters
Through this work, the Committee provides assurance to the Board on the effectiveness of Revenue Scotland’s people‑related policies and practices and their alignment with organisational strategy and statutory duties.
