Revenue Scotland has today (7 March 2019) launched a recruitment campaign to appoint two new Board members.
The roles, advertised through Public Appointments Scotland, are seeking new Board recruits to join the existing five-strong Board in challenging but rewarding roles supporting the tax authority as its responsibilities and remit continue to grow.
The advert, which closes at midnight on Friday 29 March, appeals for candidates with a wide range of experience. However previous board level experience is not essential. As an organisation which values diversity and gender balance, Revenue Scotland is encouraging applications from groups currently under-represented on boards including women, people under 50 years of age and those with a disability.
Revenue Scotland is hosting an information event at the Institute of Directors in Edinburgh on Wednesday 13 March from 17:00 – 19:00. Prospective applicants are encouraged to attend to informally discuss the opportunities with existing Board members and Revenue Scotland staff. Revenue Scotland is a Non-Ministerial Department responsible for the management and collection of Scotland’s devolved taxes – currently Land and Buildings Transaction Tax (LBTT) and Scottish Landfill Tax (SLfT).
The tax authority operates according to Adam Smith’s principles of taxation to ensure equity, certainty, convenience and efficiency in administering and managing devolved taxes.
