Monthly LBTT Statistics

Commentary

• A total of £77.9m LBTT was declared by taxpayers in April 2024. This is 22% higher than March 2024 and the highest ever figure for the month of April.
• Residential LBTT, excluding ADS, was £35.9m in April 2024. This is a record high for April and is £6.6m higher than April 2023. 
• Non-Residential LBTT, excluding ADS, also saw a record high for the month of April with £22.9m declared due. This is up £6.1m on April 2023. 
• A total of 9,880 notifiable land and building transactions were reported in April 2024, which is 1,090 more than April 2023, and the second-highest ever for the month of April.
• 8,180 residential LBTT returns were submitted in April 2024, which is 750 more than in April 2023.
