Commentary

• A total of £55.2m LBTT was declared by taxpayers in February 2024. This is 10% higher than January 2024.
• LBTT, excluding ADS, declared in February 2024 was £40.9. This is £5.7m higher than in January 2024 and £4.9m higher than February 2023.
• In comparison to January 2024, residential LBTT declared, excluding ADS, decreased by £3.3m. Non-residential revenue, excluding ADS, more than doubled to £17.8m in the same period. Non-residential LBTT was the second highest ever for the month of February.
• A total of 7,090 notifiable land and building transactions were reported in February 2024, which is 200 fewer than last month, and 100 more than February 2023.
• 5,700 residential LBTT returns were submitted in February 2024, which is 20 fewer than in February 2023.
