Commentary
- A total self-reported tax liability of £73.1m was declared by taxpayers in October 2023. This is down 1% on last month.
- The tax liability, excluding ADS, declared in October 2023 was £50.9m. This is £2.9m less than September 2023, and £15.7m less than October 2022.
- In comparison to the previous month, residential liabilities, excluding ADS, increased by £1.6m and non-residential liabilities, excluding ADS, decreased by £4.5m.
- A total of 9,960 notifiable land and building transactions were reported in October 2023, which is 510 fewer than September 2023, and 1,400 fewer than October 2022.
- 8,500 residential LBTT returns were submitted in October 2023, which is the lowest number for the month of October recorded by Revenue Scotland.
